Mistakes, Oversights

I have committed that you should consider not repeating!

Embark on the journey of my oversights that is accumulated throughout 32 years of goofing around. And Manifest the hidden wisdom from bold and little nuances of my oversights, which is shared as narratives for you to easily understand. Let them assist you in fulfilling your destiny and living a better life.

Some of the narratives are essential information about my origins and homeland. Therefore, you might not find oversights there that you can relate to. However, you will know a little bit about the author. And you hopefully you might point out some of the oversights committed during the narrations.

Afghanistan: My Birthplace

Being born in Afghanistan, the heart of Asia and also known as the graveyard of empires, was once a privilege. It used to offer geographic benefits due to its antiquity and its rich history.

Pakistan: The best Refuge, Yet an Unpromised Home

Consecutive years of war in Afghanistan left no choice for its war-torn residents but to start migration. Most of the emigrants, including my family, found migration to Pakistan the most favorable.

Wisdom in Oversights Glitters to a Wise Man

Luqman al-Hakim was asked, “Where did you learn manners?” He replied, “From the ill-mannered! Whatever displeased me about them, I refrained from doing.”

For most of us, the common tendency in observing a mistake is to laugh on it, to ridicule it, or to get entertained. Therefore, a wide genre of cinema is introduced as comedy. Getting entertained on others’ mistakes is not that bad, seeing from one point of view, but we are missing a very big point.

Mistakes committed by any individual is a great opportunity for the observers to ponder on and get the best lessons out of it.

In the history of mankind, there have been multiple great individuals, who have built an empire over their accumulated mistakes, referred as experiments. If you think mistakes and experiments are two different things, you might be wrong.

Mistakes and Oversights are parts of Experiments.

When you perform an action/experiment, the result cannot exceed two outcomes: the desired one or the unknown.

The desired outcomes are the ones that have turned out exactly as you had wanted them to. On the other hand, the unknown outcomes are those that have a slight or major differences to your expected result.

A common human behavior would suggest that you have committed an oversight or series of them throughout the process; therefore, the results have turned out to be different than expected.

The next step should be a thorough examination of the whole process to find out the oversights committed.

Then keeping them in mind, the process should be repeated again and again until the desired outcome or the better one is not achieved.

Understanding Successful and Unsuccessful Actions

Let’s name the actions that have desired outcomes as Successful actions, and the ones with unwanted outcomes as Unsuccessful actions.

Our daily life is full of these successful and unsuccessful actions, even though we fail to recognize them. Some of them have quick outcomes and some of them take years to reveal themselves.

A person on his own, can take care of those with the quick ones. However, it will take him a lifetime to recognize the ones that require a long time, and then it will be too late to do something about them if they proved to be unsuccessful actions.

So, the best option is to manifest wisdom from the oversights of other human beings. Why should one experiment on himself when he can study others’ experiments? For that matter, I am your subject.

My Naked Oversights as my Contribution

I will be truthful to the nature of exposing my oversights as it was committed not more and not less. Moreover, I will put my utmost effort to be as precise as possible.

I want to have a contribution in understanding and fulfilling your destiny. Further, I want you to have a life lived with wisdom, and a life lived in prosperity.

Changing School in Pursuit of the Perfect One

I have been changing Schools throughout my studying years, with the illusion that the other one is better than this one. I have been doing it for years only to find out that I was completely wrong.

Played Different Sports and None was Special

I have played different sports to be physically active. To name a few for example: I have played cricket, football, racket, and volleyball, and I have done swimming, running, body building, trekking and mountain hiking and more.

Changing Jobs to Find the most Suitable one

The pursuit of the most suitable one, the perfect one, made me keep changing jobs my whole life. Though a wise man would advise against it, but who has ever listened to a wise man or his wisdom?

Pursuit of the best Career is an ultimate Nightmare

I have been changing careers like part-time jobs in the pursuit of the best career. For example, I have been a teacher, a singer, a content creator, a fiction writer, a social worker, a salesman, a businessman, a poet, an athlete and what more.

Is there Anything like, the Best Hobby?

How can one define the best hobby? It has been challenging for me to find and keep one. Sometimes, I enjoy listening to songs and it goes on for some days, then I completely forget that such a thing even exists.

Then I enjoy watching movies for sometimes. Then I found writing soothing, and then I find reading books pleasing.

Jack of all trades, Master of none

Point of view differs between every two persons. If a person is given a choice to choose between being the master of one skill or being good in several skills, a naive would choose several skills.

He would think about the number of skills that he would have, and also, he would think that he would never go jobless due to number of jobs available for those skills.

As a matter of fact, he is right to some extent. He would not go jobless. There will always be something for him to do.

He would keep earning only that much that could help him survive on the surface of this planet. He might also even earn substantially.

However, he will always be in an identity crisis. Whenever he will be asked about his profession, or his specific set of skills, he would think twice before answering. He might even get confused about what to reply.

Furthermore, he will not improve as much as his fellow who chose only one skill and mastered it. He will be just a mediocre, just a substitute for the time when there is no master of that skill available.

Even if he started a business, he would soon look for another one, if the one he started did not go well in the first year or years.

He would not seek for the ways to improve his business, or not even look for the mistakes responsible for the downfall.

He would simply think the business was not good — though other ones in the same business would perform better if not best.

His skills would stay at 40% and his business would grow only 30%.

This would be the ultimate extent he would go, due to lack of consistency and perseverance in one skill set and one business.

This numbers also reflect that fact that he would not have enough time to master any one thing when he is bouncing from to another.

The master of one Trade

On the other hand, the one who chose to be the master of one skill would reach the ultimate level of success in that one skill.

He then would not worry about getting fired from a job, however, he would have to learn different ways of refusing to multiple jobs and positions being offered from different entities.

It is a common fact that any business would want to have the best skills at their service, and they would pay substantial amounts and bonuses to keep the person with them.

If that person decides to establish and run a business, he will ace in it. His mindset is firm, and he knows that he has to find ways or detect the flaws in order to run the business successfully.

He will prefer to take his business from 30% to 40% gradually, but he will not go for another option where he will have to start from 0%.

Life is too Short to Try Everything

Human history has proved that any skill set needs its own time to master it. Your experience in one field of life does not equal your experience in the other field of life.

You spend 50 years of your life as a professor in a university. You might be at your level best among the other professors in the university.

But you won’t be able to compete a mediocre nurse, lawyer, barber, sportsman, construction worker, salesman, businessman and the list goes on. You will have to start from 0%.

This is also true in term of businesses. It will take years to master for example beverages business, understand the flaws and discover methods to excel in it.

And then find even better ways that would help to do better than the same businesses in town, state or country.

Abandoning beverages business after 25 years of experience, and starting a textile business would mean starting from 0%.

You know nothing about textile, though you would do your best to learn about it through journals and available knowledge on the internet. While putting that knowledge into practice you will suffer many losses.

You will commit many oversights until you master it. And until you are done with it you will have spent millions and also have wasted years.

A simple fact check:

  • Who would you choose to do your heart surgery? A heart(cardiac) surgeon or a heart doctor (cardiologist)?
  • You have a Tesla car, and it has a problem with its engine. Who would you go to: A Tesla Service Center or a Mechanic?

Some key points to consider:

  • Life is too short for trying everything.
  • Stick to the one skill you love and master it gradually.
  • Take your business from 30% to 40% gradually and then to 50% and further.
  • Don’t leave one at 30% in order to start the next from 0%.

Proverbs and common sayings are treasures of insight and wisdom if a person care to ponder upon them. I am sharing some three that you might be familiar with.

Walking too many paths leads to no destination.

Chasing too many rabbits leads to catching none.

A Jack of all trades, a Master of None

There is all the wisdom in the world. Thus, a person in pursuit of truth or perfection can easily access it through the screen of his computer, or by visiting the nearest library in his town, or even better by asking an elder like his mom, dad or grandparents at home.

Your Oversights can Serve as Manifestation of Wisdom for others.

This platform would be honored to host your articles about your oversights. For instance, the ones you might consider worthy of sharing with truth seekers, and you can also choose to stay anonymous or have the credits on your name.

Your articles will not be rejected in any circumstances, however, you are informed to consider two critical points.

  • Your article should be readable.
  • It should be grammatically correct.
